Theatre Arts Grant
Guidelines
The purpose of the Theatre Arts Grant is to provide professional development for TAG members to enrich the theatre community. In order to be eligible, a recipient must be:
- A TAG member in good standing for at least one continuous year and a resident of the metropolitan Omaha area (within a 50-mile radius of Omaha). Board members are eligible.
- Applying for funds for a theatre-related activity.
- Able to show actual participation in the event, for example, taking an acting class
offered by a theatre company, or attending workshops at a theatre conference. - Willing to show a need for the funds.
A member can only apply for and /or receive the grant once a calendar year.
An applicant may receive all the money requested, or a portion, depending on the size of the request and the money available on deposit to TAG. The maximum of any single award will be $300. The award check will be made out to the event, not the recipient. If the recipient has already made full payment, they can show proof of this and can be given the award as a reimbursement.
If the application is received by the first of the month, it will be presented to the TAG Board at the same month’s board meeting. If the application is received after the first of the month, it will be presented to the board at the following month’s meeting. If the TAG Board does not meet in a given month, the application(s) will be considered at the next month’s meeting. The award will be given to the applicant no later than one month after it is presented to the TAG board.
The committee chair will contact the participant after the event for short “report” that can be printed in the TAG newsletter.
An application can be requested from the Theatre Arts Grant committee chair.
PLEASE NOTE: A goal of the TAG Board is to expand this program in the near future. Please check back for updates!!!
